Changing The Default Browser on OSX

With the latest release of Safari 5.0.1 and the Safari Extension Gallery, I have finally moved away from Firefox as my default browser.

Changing this on OSX is fairly simple; open Safari, go to the Safari menu and down to Preferences… (cmd + , which also works in Mail). On the General tab, select your choice of browser from the drop-down.

There are some great extensions to choose from, including CodaNotes, BetterSource, MeasureIt and ResizeMe. Web designers and developers who are use to working with Firebug inside Firefox also have a similar tool available directly from inside Safari. Just go to the Preferences > Advanced and check the Show Develop Menu box.
